Letting old people die with dignity rather than strapped to a machine with tubes shoved down their throats is OK with me. Let nature, not the government decide when it’s time to go. It’s our collective failure to emotionally deal with the reality of our own mortality that causes people to squander so much for so little near the end. Get over it – we ALL die. Take care or it will be sooner than later.
Anyone who really thinks that there was anything like a “death panel” in the health care bill needs to have an intervention from friends and family about their news-gathering habits.
Some people want to visit with their own physician and talk about a “living will” – where you get to decide what kinds of treatment you want or don’t want if you’re too sick to express yourself. There would have been coverage to pay for that visit, but now, thanks to the nitwits, there won’t be.

My mom is 97 and being kept alive, with Parkinson’s and other problems, by government health care. My “right of Hitler” brother has condemned all government programs, while never working on anything but government contracts in his entire career. He had a stroke last night (still waiting to hear how he’s doing), and his life flight and hospital care is covered under “government care”. We shall see what his attitude is if he recovers.

NEWS FLASH FOR DTROUTMA!!! Being “right of Hitler” would mean the person is not quite in the same disgusting group of murderous thugs as Stalin, Mussolini, Pol Pot, Saddam Hussein, etc. NAZI stands for: National Socialist Party. ALL OF THESE ARE TOTALITARIAN, LEFT-WINGERS. Please wise up, get educated and quite trying to make a socialist dictator named Hitler a “right winger”
