It was awesome indeed. It’s been a week now, and I am still searching for the right words to describe it.

We live west of Chicago. It got a lil dusky, but, that’s all. Some of our friends set up cameras with the proper filters & got amazing pix of the eclipse, so we saw it that way. Definitely amazing. Awesome. Marvelous.

Now that I think about it, I haven’t heard a single legend where the sun and the moon are lovers, where a solar eclipse is described as the sun and the moon kissing.

A story is told by my people about the Moon and the Sun. The Sun was big and overbearing, hotheaded and quick to lose its temper. The Moon was small and cool-headed, but swift on its feet. One day, the two agreed to a race to determine which one would do the dishes that afternoon. The Sun, knowing that to it distance is nothing and that it could easily win just by showing up, decided to sleep in late that morning. The Moon, gradually but surely covered the race course, carefully avoiding any actions or noises that would wake the Sun up. No, wait…
