    Wait… If Verne is a conformist, and everyone else is a non-conformist, then they are all conforming and thus conformists, and Verne is the only conformist, and thus the only non-conformist. Or something like that.

    I found in years of teaching (and being a student) that most non-conformists adhere to strict guidelines for their non-conformity and get all kinds of crap from other non-conformists if they don’t.
