I wonder if Fellow Baby would soften if he found any abandoned kittens whose eyes weren’t even opened yet, in his backyard, totally helpless little creatures. :-)
I think not, Fellow Baby. When I’ve got the time, I’ll tell you a story of my days in Big “D”. But my Mom was scared to death of cats. I understood why: they had a way of sneaking up on you; a quality I learned to despise. I’m more of a fan of birds – not cats who toy with their prey before devouring them.
Fellow Baby all my cats I have ever owned have been indoors, except my first, who came about in another long story, She was so smart she would look both ways before she crossed the street, and finally for the most part, spent most of her time indoors once she got used to it. And my dogs were never allowed to run freely in the neighborhood either. If you own a pet you must take care of it, and letting them run in busy steets and housing developments is not the way to do it.
Of course our Charlie Girl got loose more than once in her younger days, and that was quite an exercise chasing about the neighborhood after her! She was part Lab and part Beagle! LOL!

We have a basset hound next door. When they leave, they put it outside and then the howling begins – non stop.
