regarding number six’s post of the supposedly 3d picture hidden in all the red, as usual i was unable to see it. when those things were popular in the 90’s, I was the only one who never EVER saw those images . there were directions , i remember, you stare at one part of it for a number of minutes and VOILA! the image pops out at you. WOW everybody said, COOL, everybody said, but never ever, ever for me…ARGHHHHHH!.sorry, I had to get that off my chest.so , stel, what WAS the cool 3D image that just popped up and dazzled you? bitter? oh noooooo, not me!

from ‘71 to ’87 I was a letter carrier and managed to avoid being dog bit, except for that sneaky little poodle who waited in the bushes and attacked my ankle from the rear.poodles are evil; surely there is a picture somewhere of an EVIL poodle.surely, let me see…… aha!

Oh….NO!!!! You were NOT the only one who could not see the 3D image. You and I…were the only TWO people who didn’t have the “magic eye”!!

Anyway, it was when my eyes finally glazed over and relaxed and became unfocused , that I saw an image of a heart made up of roses just kind of floating out at me….well, almost a heart…I’m sure that was the intention, but on the two top curved parts of the heart, it sort of looked like a “horn” on each part. It’s hard to explain, just as it’s hard to explain how to “relax and unfocus” your eyes.

PS: the “horns” on the heart aren’t there anymore. At least the heart is still there!OK…here’s why: the longer you look at it with “unfocused” eyes, the more the image completes itself, if that makes any sense. In other words, the “horns” disappeared, and the heart became a perfect shape and bigger (the top filled in) because I gave it more time than last night and kept my eyes on it. All totaled, it took (for me) 20-30 seconds for the complete image to emerge. I think the whole thing is similar to what the old viewmasters did for us when we were kids…taking an image from 2 different perspectives (or in this case, 2 unfocused eyes) to make it 3D. Maybe having (or not having) astigmatism affects the level of difficulty as well. (?) I have astigmatism, so I wonder whether that made it more difficult all this time…………..and, then again, maybe not…Thus ends my dissertation on this subject! (Because, obviously, I could go on and on about it…….LOL)

x_Tech, WKRP was one of the best shows ever and the Turkey incident the best. It is still on every once in a while.

Stel and nighthawks, having astigmatism does make it very difficult if not impossible to find those pictures. My guess is, nighthawks, you have astigmatism too, don’t you?

When I said yesterday, “I see, I see”, I meant, how could you not see it, the post was so large, LOL, but alas, all I saw was the roses too.

Good afternoon kiddos. Hope life is treating everyone well. I hope to catch up later on today, after I finish all my work. We are having wonderful weather today and I have neglected my yard due to a sinus infection from he…..I hate coming home from vacation. Always too much to do before getting back to the grind..Thank you to Dry & Number Six for explaining why I’ve never been able to do the magic eye thing. I remember art class in grade school when we drew a bunch of scribbles and the teacher said to find a picture in it. I was completely stumped. She came over and looked at my paper and said “Well, there’s a lion right there”. I remember the rather disgusted look she gave me when I couldn’t see it.

still can’t see it…..and , nope, no stigmatism , but I DO have stigmata. does that help?(pardon while clean all this blood off of my keyboard)there. anyway – can’t see it, even though I took to heart (ha ha) stel ol’ bel’s advice on looking ‘unfocused’, I simply took off my glasses (can’t get more unfocused then that!) and after 30 seconds, nothing.I give, as I always did. Life is too short to spend to staring at a computer screen. (wait a sec, I do that for hours a day, anyway-)

I left my glasses on, because once I was able to see it, I wouldn’t have been able to see it.

Okay, I’ll be back when I’ve finished some things, but just for the record, I know there is a heart somewhere in the roses. I catch glimspes of it trying to float out to me. But I am too tense and focused right now to see the whole heart.

I am going to have a nice hot shower or bath, adn the I will whole-heartedly look at those roses.

it may be a turkey breast and a packaged dressing for two this year.and a sweetpotatoe.

I might have some of the Tara King shows if I’m so inclined, but I’ve heard those shows were really weak. I never saw them on television.

Actually I’ll do a cornbread stuffing. but there’s nothing wrong with using bacon fat.

Since Mom died, I like to do French Canadian Meat Pies for Christmas which have a ground beef/ground pork mix.When she was alive, I was on Turkey overdose.

that is the only way to do it.you sweat the onions in the bacon fat.
