This strip is sort of what WhiteHouse dot Com did: they got the domain name, and just charged for ads to be shown to people who arrived there accidentally. Then they realized that they were getting all their repeat business from p0rn sites, and figured they must be a profitable business. So they became a p0rn site themselves. This site is the reason why browsers stopped just adding a “.com” to a single word you typed in and going there.
Not to suggest it, but I’ve been expecting ads to adopt the “details coming right after this” practice to show exciting ticklers, break to cat video, then pound the brand name at you.
