If he did it while reaching for light bulb while standing on the ladder… Falling of a ladder can mess you up in many many ways.

I’ve never been happy climbing a ladder. Now, with osteoarthritis in the knees, it’s even less likely.

Our living room has a cathedral ceiling and there are three recessed lights up there. We rarely turn them on, as it would be too much trouble to replace the bulbs. It will take a special tool and some luck.

I used to work in an airplane hanger and the maintenance guy had a tool for changing the bulbs which were quite a ways up in the roof area as you can imagine. It was a long telescoping pole with a suction cup and wire cage on the end. You pushed it up there against the bulb and engaged the suction cup, unscrewed it and brought it down to add a new one and screw it back in. Check on Amazon they may have such a thing

How many Middletons does it take to change out a light bulb? At least 2.

In order for his back to get thrown out, it must have been a heavy (not light) bulb.
