Jimbo looks a little startled, but not at all unhappy. I would like to take this time to mention my absolute all time favorite Rose strip, a Sunday strip from back before they started showing the Sundays. (I really wish that someone could look them up and insert them into the archives!) This particular strip began in the kitchen, focused on two pairs of legs. The feminine pair were hunched together, as though Rose was cringing. She apologizes for being in such a nasty mood lately, then says “I don’t know why you put up with me!” She looks up at him pathetically. Jimbo steps over to her, one hand slipping to the back of her neck while the other tosses his cap aside. He pulls her close, and says, “A sailor rides out the storm without losing his love for the sea.” They kiss, and the last panel has Abby out by the fence saying “You look radiant! What have you been doing?” “Sailing!” I really think that this one should be made into a poster and hung on the walls of marriage counselors everywhere.

“Rose” is a gag-a-day strip. She could get pregnant and it would take years until she gives birth.
