Years ago, I was “channel surfing” after 5 AM one morning, and couldn’t find anything worth watching. I happened to “wipe out” on this gray haired, country-boy preacher’s program. He was explaining something about a bible verse. I wondered how long it would take for him to get around to asking for money, and decided to watch until he did.
A smaller percentage of tv evangelists than politicians live the gilded life. Just tv evangelists are a little more straight-forward in soliciting – both in what they want, and what they can deliver in return.
