I will make an attempt to be a voice of reason in this whole thing
1) Of course, both parties play politics with the issue. That is what most politicians do, unfortunately.
2) There is a basic disagreement on what is appropriate in regard to border security and immigration policy. A quick summary of this disagreement is border security versus basic human compassion. Some place a higher value on a secure border. Some place a higher value on human compassion. This is a valid disagreement and it needs to be discussed and ironed out. (I know where I stand on this but what I think is irrelevant to the point I am trying to make,
3) Compromise between the two positions will be necessary. That is basic to a democracy where the population is split relatively evenly between the two positions. No compromise means no solution.
Illegal aliens entering TX are down considerable from just a few weeks ago. Seems that the razor wire and shipping containers are doing the job Biden refuses to do.
Meanwhile, illegal alien entries in AZ and CA are up as cartels shift to other crossings.
Meanwhile, in Chicago…Arrests of people listing Venezuela as their birthplace soared over 2,500% last year as migrants flooded the city. A number of migrants have been arrested multiple times. Just sayin’.
Every Trump initiative, including those continued by Biden, were thrown out by the courts. Billions are already spent on border security. Requests for more $$ are ignored by Congress.
Tragic anecdotes, fear-mongering and out right lies have become the basis of the MAGA crowd’s argument. Historically, none of this is new. It’s just so freakin’ sad that some learn so few of those lessons.

They need it politically, but don’t care about our Border. What is currently being worked on in the Senate will be meaningless in terms of Border Security and Closure.” – CBS
Upon completion of this sentence I will erase this idiotic ‘toon from my consciousness. It is something I am pretty good at. I practice it every time I read a Bok, or Varvel, or SKelley, or tittiebaum, or any other RWNJ whatever.

Except that Article I, § 10, Clause 3 of the US Constitution acknowledges the States’ sovereign interest in protecting their own borders. This was just reaffirmed in the wording of the Supreme Court’s decision that allowed the Border Patrol to cut Texas’ razor wire only when necessary in ongoing rescue operations to save human life. SCOTUS did not enjoin Texas to take any action, or to stop any action that it’s taking already. Including laying razor wire.
This is the same reason that Biden will never follow through with his threat to nationalize the Texas National Guard under Title 10, thereby putting Americans in direct military contact with other Americans. Biden loves to talk the talk. Walking the walk is a different story, and not just physically.
This is all B.S. Illegal crossings into the U.S. are back down to the levels under Obama, after spiking up under tRump. Biden has deported more in 3 years than tRump did in 4 years. It is all election year baloney.
