Sad when both candidates addressed problems as they were once relevant while ignoring the inevitable/unstoppable demographic redistribution and aging society issues.
And yet he’s been a very effective president. Of course, he was able to do more with Democrats controlling congress, but we can get there again by voting Democratic up and down the ticket.
Biden successfully rigged his nomination. Trump failed when there was an outcry in his party against proclaiming him their presumptive nominee. Remember Mad Magazine’s “Spy vs Spy”?
Is Ted Rall secretly hoping for a Trump victory? It would give him a huge pile of steaming stuff to draw cartoons about. Ted would never again struggle for material to parody!
I tend to agree that Biden should have told the DNC “bring it on, let’s have a contested primary season”. But he didn’t, and they didn’t.
It’s likely things would have turned out the same: Biden selected as the best candidate to win the election. But it would have appeared better.
Besides, Trump has a (sort of) contested primary season, but that’s not going to change the outcome (by itself).
The point is, we’re where we are now. Can’t turn the clock back. Gotta vote for the candidates we have. Not voting is about the same as voting for the one you definitely don’t want. Voting for a third-party candidate is likely the same as voting for the one you definitely don’t want.
Complain all you want, and vow that we’ll do better next time, but vote this time like it matters.

[W]e want the public to easily identify the people responsible for committing, enabling and failing to prevent a genocide in Gaza.
The ‘War Criminals’ deck contains 54 individuals implicated in the genocide in Gaza. These individuals are bound together by their indiscriminate support for the systematic killing of Palestinian civilians when the world, resoundingly and repeatedly, begged them to stop.
They engaged in collective punishment, the targeting of civilians, forced displacement, mass starvation, torture, attacking hospitals and evacuation routes and other atrocities, while boasting they had “no red lines” and they are fighting “human animals.”
These War Criminals deserve no peace.

The expiry date is a flat lie. Yes, he’s older than any of us would prefer. But here’s the thing: WHO ELSE COULD WIN?
And that’s all that matters, right?

Dems want you to think left wing fascism cannot be real. But it’s been around for many decades going back to pre-WWII.

I like Joe, but that aside, to parphrase ol’ Donnie Rumsfeld, it may not be the election some of us want, but it may be the election we will have.

Never mind that the White House could pull a “Weekend at Bernie’s” and Old Joe will still be a better president than that other guy.
