Perhaps an unknowing rephrasing of a very old BC strip. Thor’s on his wheel and comes to a sign that reads “Dip in the Road”. Next panel has a nerdy, goofy “dip in the road”.
Ok, speaking of traffic signs, consider “Dead End” road. We all know exactly what the sign means, and it serves the purpose well. How did that expression come about is my question. Maybe it’s where the road died ?
