Guerilla warfare… including what the Houthis are doing… is VERY difficult to beat with merely superior force. Surely the USA which has lost in such contests (almost?) every time it’s engaged MUST have learned that lesson by now. Surely.
Number of US forces in Afghanistan, January 2017 was nearly 12,500.
Number of US fores in Afghanistan, January 2021 was 2,500
“The US and the Taliban engaged in multiple rounds of peace negotiations in 2019 and 2020. As part of those negotiations, President Trump further reduced troop levels in Afghanistan by 7,000 during that time.”
“In a February 2020 agreement with the Taliban, the US committed to a full military withdrawal from Afghanistan by May 1, 2021.”
So Biden was NOT “behind the cowardly and deadly retreat in Afghanistan.” It was the Afghan army that retreated from the Taliban.
Had Biden tried to add more troops in early 2021, the Taliban would simply have started their campaign before any significant numbers of US troops could arrive.
There have been 101 attacks on our troops in the middle east by proxies of Iran. You can’t win a war by constantly retreating. Grow a pair and let some of these bas-ards see what it’s like to be on the receiving end of awesome U.S. firepower.
It’s called counting coup. Every attack, even though they fail, gives them street cred. They know they can’t defeat the US. However, even if they’re only successful 1 out of 100,000 tries, they win what they’re looking for. And it only takes 1 time. That’s exactly what 9/11 gave the terrorists: street cred. For all its might, the US failed to stop it. 3000 people dead and two wars fought.
“… Operation Prosperity Guardian is a multi-national push to ensure freedom of navigation in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden under the structure of the existing Combined Task Force 153, according to the statement from Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin last week.
The task force includes United Kingdom, Bahrain, Canada, France, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Seychelles, Spain, Greece and Australia.
While the task forces was presented as U.S.-led, Reuters reported that Spain, Italy and France were not operating under direct U.S. control. …" — USNI
Biden’s “Historic” Leadership – Historic Inflation, spending and debt, illegal immigration, war mongering, weakening of the military, election interference, self-enrichment, cover-ups, erosion of constitutional rights, crime, propaganda and censorship, media control, dismantling of morality, racial division, citizen neglect, authoritarianism, weaponization of the government. Yep, it’s historic, all right.
U.S. would do well to pick a better symbol than the bald eagle. They may be pretty, but their size and wing shape give them poor maneuverability, and the smaller birds make them look like fools and chasing them away at will. Their fledglings are whiny moochers and they prefer to steal their meals from the hard-working ospreys, or just eat road kill. There’re more than enough analogies to prove Ben Franklin was right when suggesting the turkey as our national symbol. Alas warlike countries do tend to use the eagle pretty consistently.
“We like war! We’re a war-like people! We like war because we’re good at it! You know why we’re good at it? Cause we get a lot of practice.” George Carlin The USA has no threats in this hemisphere so it sends “defense” forces abroad to make enemies.
Not only has Ole Slo Joe totally abdicated his authority as Commander in Chief to the current pack of politically correct generals in the Ministry of Peace, he’s completely forgotten the example of his predecessor. For the current situation, that would go something like “Yemen is nothing more than a surrogate for Iran. When Yemen acts up, we don’t strike the Houthis. We strike Iran. And hard enough so they’ll think twice before recruiting the next surrogate”.
As when Trump killed Al-Zawahiri and Al-Suleimani. According to the team that killed him, the latter died a coward’s death. He saw the weapon coming for him and ran for cover, crying like a little girl. Ole Slo Joe would probably have sent him a get-well card.
They got to be lunching those drones from somewhere, drones that go out to see two or more thousand Kilometers aren’t just driven out to the woods with out pre-planning.

Sorry, but with Biden in office, a chicken would be more appropriate in this context.

Drones and missles fired from mobile launchers have made addressing the Houthi attacks difficult to knock out.

An annoying nuisance, but the distraction can exhaust the eagle and bring it to the brink of starvation.
