AARP pushed out an email today touting the perk of Stones Tour tickets. No joke.

AARP is sponsoring the current tour.

Cue the “Rolling Stones are old” jokes. The Stones refer to their heroes, the old blues men like Muddy Waters. Those admirable musicians played until they could play no more. I saw BB King in his latter days. He couldn’t stand up but he could make great music.

Social Security and Medicare are Not entitlement programs. They took money out of my checks for 30 years supposedly to put away for my retirement this is MY money coming back to me not a handout.

Callous Republicans who have zero empathy want to take away your Social Security and Medicare and give the money to rich people who don’t need it.

Okay, I’m not as old as the Stones – or the rocks or the hills, for that matter – but old enough to say, Medicare and Social Security are not “entitlements.” They are insurance programs, which I paid into for 50 years. I am grateful that these programs exist. Medicare, by the way, is about the best medical insurance I’ve ever had.
