Only in America… the Thanksgiving Holiday.

Today is spent doing the prep work for tomorrow’s feast. Tomorrow we watch a lot of football, and give thanks that we will enjoy the meal and the day without relatives. Go Teaneck – beat Hackensack tomorrow morning.

Not a so Happy Thanksgiving.

My wife and I are staying home, eating BBQ turkey from a regional place, and watching the Macy’s parade tomorrow.

Mom’s going to a cousin’s house for Thanksgiving since we can’t be there with her.

Fraught as this Thanksgiving may be, everyone ought to try to enjoy it. If Trump is re-elected, there won’t be much to be thankful for by the next one.

Tolls are avoidable. It’s just whether you have the time to avoid them. Then again, if they are backed up to a near stand still, the side routes may not be much better, but they won’t add tolls to your travel.

I’ll just stay at home. Don’t want to lose my appetite.

I’m grateful and appreciate every day. Now I am 2 1/2 hours from home. I drove here to be at my daughter’s house last Sunday after church and will stay until Saturday. My granddaughter will drive an hour to get here tomorrow. We are preparing what we can today for the feast day. I am truly grateful to be here and able to help. Politics are definitely off the menu!

Pick an American national holiday, any of them. Have any escaped being shoved quite a way off their original essential meaning?
