This reminds me of a very bad incident which took place on a German shore of the Baltic Sea. There was this porpoise which swam to close to the beach one day. Stupid humans crowded it, made selfies with it, petted it and even cuddled the poor animal until it died of a heart attack. Porpoises are on the red list as far as I know.
