    This strip first ran on Christmas Day, Monday, December 25, 1950. Interesting that there is no hint of the holiday season in this strip or the ones leading up to it.

    Nice touch in panel 2: the kids brushing the snow off the top of the wall. This could easily have been a copy of panel 1, but Schulz was paying attention to how kids behave.

    Growing up in coal mining company, most coal miner families at the time had at least three generations living in the company house, many of which were duplexes. Every time I see a Townhouse neighborhood now, all I see are company houses.
