It’s always difficult to allow “the others” the same freedoms that you want for yourself.

In many cases it’s against the cultural norm to do so.

The cartoon projects the notion that the two sides are oppressive equals. The assaults and vehement hateful language used by pro-Hamas students on campuses and public demonstrations against Jews is mostly one-sided. Jewish students must take refuge in a library to avoid harm or stay away for classes for their own safety.

Anytime I see a piece like this, my first instinct is to consider it a cheap piece and a false equivalency.

It’s hard to run any organization when communications/collaboration are irrationally/dysfunctionally obstructed.

Well put. The challenge is really at what point does the free speech cross over to yelling “fire” (or, today, “active shooter”) in a crowded theater?

They forgot the “responsible” part of Free Speech when they wrote it down, kind of took it for granted and did not realize that years later social media would give licence to all kinds of kooks to take advantage.

Everything has a limit. My freedoms end when they adversely impact others. Hate speech, like falsely yelling out “Fire” in a crowded room with only one exit, can’t be tolerated.

Everyone wants freedom of speech. Having to listen to the other guy . . . not so much.

I like people that let me know who and what they are. It informs my next decisions.
