I’ve heard people speak out for this witch hunt. I don’t agree with the anti-Israel crowd. I think they are either desperately evil or sincerely misguided. Either way, when we get into the place of thought police are we still truly living in a Democratic society?

You know, these groups are publishing names of kid’s who are in organizations which are expressing their right of free speech. Although some of these actions may have been done in poor taste or hastily and many disagree with their actions, are we going to deep 6 their future over it? A lot of these kids in these groups were oblivious to the actual language of some of these petitions. Granted, some like the NYU Law student who took it upon her/theirself to speak for the whole group without any consultation is going to pay a steep price though I am sure this individual will find some benefactors if the former law school association president has not already. The condoning of Hamas is wrong in the view of many in Western society and perhaps a better way of dealing with our youth is through dialogue and not knee-jerk reaction. Sometimes I agree with Bill Maher about how society is so quick to cancel one who does not have the same beliefs as what the canceller feels is correct and it is ironic that places like Harvard and Yale have been accused of encouraging an elitist attitude on their campuses and yet now they are at odds with students who are taking what they were taught and using it to bite the hand that feeds them.

Let me put it another way; wouldn’t law school students who have right wing leanings and are in student organizations which represent the belief such as those indoctrinated by The Federalist Society or The John Birch Society be a tad upset if their names were published and they were blocked from job interviews because their organizations are viewed by many as far right and condone the exploitation of the masses via their vision of a feudal society with a few rich property owners and everyone else basically serfs living from paycheck to paycheck?

Well, it’s the cancel culture brought to you by the left. Are they surprised it’s now being used on them?

Maybe we should return the voting age to 21.

Love how the right invents a something bad then uses the claim that the left is doing it as justification for THEM doing it.

With war criminals in Likud. Hamas, Hezbollah, et al it’s hard to track who is the worst offender. Is it based on severity or duration; what are the metrics?

Wouldn’t it be better to suggest ways to end the conflicts in the Middle East than try to assign blame for flare-ups? We have problems when there are opposing ideologies in the same territory rather than distinct opposing countries. Perhaps having authoritarian right-wing leaderships — that ignore the needs of their citizens — in Likud, Hamas, Hezbollah, et al is the root cause of the unending conflicts?

Had a Job interview like that once, Did not go well obviously !

Who in their right mind can explain how they doubled the size of their territory carved out of Palestine after 1948?

The students have taken an action as adults. The companies have the right to re-evaluate their hiring decisions. They thought that their signature would have an impact in the world. Now they have to face the law of unintended consequences

I was just thinking how hard those Harvard kids have it in life. Somehow they will get by.

I don’t think I would want to work for someone who conflates compassion for civilians caught in a war for terrorism.

Just read an interesting article about Chicago policemen who are member of the Oath Keepers and the debate over whether this should be allowable. The group advocates actions which include not upholding all laws, which police, by the nature of their jobs, are supposed to enforce. Is this allowable if the respective police haven’t (yet) acted in this manner? The federal government has acted to ban employee membership in such groups.

For some, college is where you go to work some of the stupid out before becoming a actual adult.

It is typical of youth to believe they can say what they want without consequences.

Any.. negative comments towards Israel labels you anti-semitic and partners you with terrorists.

Many people do stupid things in college. A long time ago during Senator Joe McCarthy’s hearings in the 40’s and 50’s rooting out Communists several actors careers were ruined because in college they attended a Communist meeting just to be near someone they were dating. I would not give these young people a pass now, but maybe in a few years once they mature a bit and get some more real world experience.

What most disturbs me is HOW the corporations are getting their information. Open source, or illegally accessing privileged information?

Supporting Palestinians is not the same thing as being anti-Israel. It’s just that Israel has been systematically engaged in Palestinian expulsion from its borders for many decades. If the two nation solution is to work, then Israel has to stop seeking to defeat it with settlements on the West Bank and starving the people of Gaza. The latter should be helped to be self sustaining while it’s true that Hamas must go.

It’s about time that the libs get a little taste of their own cancel culture.

Don’t use social media, use cash, limit the number of apps you download and essentially try to minimize any means to track your actions because that stuff never gets erased and gets aggregated by companies that will then sell it to whomever wants it.

While I am in no way in favor of black listing over politics, there is not just a world, but a universe of difference between these two things.
