I always enjoy seeing Popsicle Pete. He brings back many fond memories of summers as a kid. BTW, respect Popsicle Pete for making sure Rover gets a pet-safe treat. Happy Summer!

I love this comic! It just reminds me of my childhood and Johnny the Good Humor ice cream man.

This reminds me of my first summer job.I worked in a combination pretzel bakery and snack shop. In the morning, I’d twist the dough for soft pretzels. In the afternoon, I’d stand at the snack shop counter and sell penny candy, popcorn, and especially, water ice. My favorite customer was an officer of Philadelphia’s Mounted Unit, which is to say a cop on a horse. Every day, the cop would tie his horse to a parking meter, and order two water ices—cherry for him, lemon for his horse. He’d go outside and feed the lemon water ice tothe horse. Norman Rockwell would have loved the image.

You can buy silicone popsicle makers anywhere these days and they are so inexpensive. Get some for your dog and put a rawhide treat in it and fill it with water and freeze it. Great for a dog on a hot day. This is also great for a young puppy who is teething. I did this for my dog Shilo when he was teething. The cold gave him relief from the hot pain in his gums and he loved them.

And it seems Red removed his shoes while he was waiting. Yesterday had him wearing sneakers.
