As bad as CNN has become they just the past few days started to weed out some of the folks who have tried to turn it into Faux Lite (still it is too little and far too late). It is nothing like it was in the days where it actually had reporters and often scooped even the alphabet agencies. On the other hand it never quite sank all the way down to the level of Fox Entertainment Network nor the scumbof Newsmax or OAN and company, none of which poor old Breen would ever dare to go after. I check in on those almost as little as I do on CNN. You see, if I want actual reporting I go to UPI or Reuters and their like – more facts and wayyyyy less BS from either cults or talking heads

What happened? I get the ratings thing but selling your soul to treasonous trash should not be the business plan.

With CNN Chairman and CEO Chris Licht out of the way, maybe things will get back to normal. With these Republican Town Hall Meetings lately, I thought i was watching FOX.

CNN destroyed itself. They went left to compete against Fox. They lost long before they angered their dwindling audience by doing the Trump interview. It was fascinating television, drew viewers, but angered its own base. They themselves in the foot by giving their nemesis a stage. Another Bud Lite moment.

CNN looks a lot like Fox News(?) because John Malone who owns a third of Fox has taken over a large chunk of CNN and a number of other cable networks including Discover, HBO now MAX, etc. Instead of building a rocket ship and popping off into space this guy is taking over the media. For one day their ratings went up. Why? Trump dominated the show. Then came the backlash.

Oh, for the days of Cronkite, Huntly, and Brinkly. When Uncle Walter said, “That’s the way it is”, you knew that was the way it was.

I thought… CNN stood for Cable News Network. A concept lost some time ago as it morphed into an “opinion” network. Leave the opinion networks to the likes of FOX or MSNBC and return to “NEWS”, plain and simple news. A public service if you will. Unfortunately not well funded by sponsors, the big money is in saucy headlines.. often false but who cares.

If they had wanted to up their ratings, they’d of done better to create a segment called What FOX News got Wrong and Ignored Today.
