It’s democracy. Teump and DeSantis are not the only candidates. Pay attention and pick the best of the worst. Dems have RFK, Jr. and maybe others. They will face the same dilemma as the GOP as Joe will likely be tossed aside like a half eaten ice cream cone. He is toast.
WASHINGTON — The Treasury Department and Internal Revenue Service today issued Notice 2023-13, which contains a proposed revenue procedure that would establish the Service Industry Tip Compliance Agreement (SITCA) program, a voluntary tip reporting program between the IRS and employers in various service industries. The IRS is issuing this guidance in proposed form to provide an opportunity for public comment.
The proposed SITCA program is designed to take advantage of advancements in point-of-sale, time and attendance systems, and electronic payment settlement methods to improve tip reporting compliance. The proposed program would also decrease taxpayer and IRS administrative burdens and provide more transparency and certainty to taxpayers. The proposed program includes several features:
The monitoring of employer compliance based on actual annual tip revenue and charge tip data from an employer’s point-of-sale system, and allowance for adjustments in tipping practices from year to year.Participating employers demonstrate compliance with the program requirements by submitting an annual report after the close of the calendar year, which reduces the need for compliance reviews by the IRS.Participating employers receive protection from liability under the rules that define tips as part of an employee’s pay for calendar years in which they remain compliant with program requirements.Participating employers have flexibility to implement employee tip reporting policies that are best suited for their employees and their business model in accordance with the section of the tax law that requires employees to report tips to their employers.

‘Sure wasn’t by drag queens’: DeSantis slammed for ignoring Florida mass shooting that included children
A Memorial Day mass shooting 20 miles north of Miami left nine people, including children as young as one, wounded, yet Governor Ron DeSantis hasn’t said a word about it publicly, leading many on social media to blast the Florida Republican who for months has been highly-focused on his presidential campaign.“Nine people were wounded Monday evening when gunfire erupted along a beachside promenade in Hollywood, Florida, sending people frantically running for cover along the crowded beach on Memorial Day,” CBS News reports. “The shooting happened on the Hollywood Oceanfront Broadwalk near a convenience store, a Ben & Jerry’s ice cream store and a Subway sandwich shop.”

Ron DeSantis, alleging that the 2024 Republican presidential candidate unlawfully transferred or directed more than $80 million from a state political action committee to a super PAC supporting his White House bid.The Campaign Legal Center (CLC) says in its complaint that the reported transfer of funds from the state committee—formerly known as “Friends of Ron DeSantis”—to the pro-DeSantis super PAC Never Back Down runs afoul of rules barring political candidates from spending so-called “soft money” on federal elections.

Trump smacks DeSantis over pandemic response: why do they say that DeSanctus did a good job?’
Donald Trump lobbed an attack on Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ handling of the coronavirus pandemic Tuesday – despite it being a stance that’s been widely applauded by conservatives. The governor became a national political figure by defying COVID-19 restrictions and fighting vaccine mandates, and he has tried to connect Trump to Dr. Anthony Fauci, who remains deeply unpopular among conservatives. But the former president hit back by pointing out that DeSantis had shut down businesses and beaches in the earliest days of the pandemic.
No president in US history ‘abused the pardon power’ more ‘brazenly’ than Trump: author
Former President Donald Trump has promised to pardon a “large portion” of the insurrectionists who attacked the U.S. Capitol Building on January 6, 2021 if he wins the 2024 presidential election. It’s a promise he would likely make good on; during his four years in the White House, Trump granted presidential pardons to a long list of cronies who were convicted of or pled guilty to federal crimes — from GOP operative Roger Stone to Paul Manafort (Trump’s former 2016 campaign manager) to Michael Flynn (Trump’s former national security adviser). In an article published by The Bulwark on May 30, author Gabriel Schoenfeld stresses that America’s Founding Fathers had good reasons for giving presidents the pardon power. But Trump, Schoenfeld laments, repeatedly “abused” that power — and will surely abuse it “on an even greater scale” if he returns to the White House in January 2025.
Trump plans to ‘immediately purge’ the FBI and DOJ of agents who investigated him
Donald Trump has been asking people close to him, including one of his personal attorneys, for the identities of senior FBI agents and Justice Department personnel who’ve been working on the federal investigations targeting him, Rolling Stone reported. Sources tell Rolling Stone that Trump said that if he’s elected, he’ll “quickly” and “immediately” purge the agents from their positions.
‘Mass migration’: Pride organizer describes an LGBTQ exodus out of Florida
An exodus of LGBTQ people has started in Florida as they flee the state over Gov. Ron DeSantis’ hard-right persecution policies, Pride organizer Danielle Oliviani told the Daily Beast.New laws are forcing some Pride organizations around the state to cancel their month long celebrations ,which usually start in June, in a climate of fear, particularly in light of new legislation DeSantis signed making businesses that host drag shows liable if children are present, Oliviani, who is in heavily Republican Lake County, said.
And despite all the stuff that gets tossed around nearly half of the voters in this country will vote for whichever one, even if it’s not one of these two, wins, no matter what.
