The McCarthy & Friends Show clearly demonstrates that they feel no responsibility toward anyone but themselves. They couldn’t care less about their constituents, their country or the entire rest of the world.

McCarthy sold his soul… not that the buyers got much. But he really isn’t ABLE to crack the whip to insist that “his” caucus get real and understand that compromise means that BOTH parties lose some of what they want, not just the Democrats. And of course he’s playing with the entire global economy, which is far more important than just his jejune little stupid point.

A compromise that makes both sides wince, shudder, and bleed equally is better than a patently unequal and unfair negotiation. The debt ceiling needs to go.

Biden should tell McJerky that he’ll accept the same deal they made with trump to raise the debt ceiling THREE TIMES.

Aris above wandering in his/her delusions again. McQevin and the Repubs have demonstrated that they have absolutely no understanding of how the U.S. government functions.

My congressman Andy Biggs (R-AZ) does. He caucuses with Speaker McCarthy.

Give the speaker what he wants but tie it to removing the cap on FICA, removing real estate 1031, eliminate carried interest and tax capital gains as ordinary income, and return corporate income tax rate to their previous level. The Democrats need to speak up and not be so complacent. This debut ceiling business will be blamed on the Democrats, you just watch. And…Stop salaries and benefits for all elected officials during a default and require a term limits bill passage for house and senate members and Supreme Court justices before restoring salaries and benefits.

And my oh my how the GQP trolls ignore that McCarthy has been sitting with both thumbs up his keester while he tries for yet another TFG-type “compromise” that gives the super rich even more while the GQP suckers & losers will pay for it. The cult sure has them by their short & curliest just like the far Reichgwing nut jobs have McCarthy. He cannot go to the toilet to pee without Perjury Traitor Groin’s permission. And the GQP louse infected House has such a razor thin majority that they dare not tick off either the wimp or the nutcase lest they let someone who gives a tinkers dam# about placing America before the Party oligarchy get a seat for once

GOP plans to unveil deficit-exploding tax cuts for the rich 2 weeks after debt limit deadline

The fresh push for tax cuts, according to Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), further shows that “this hostage crisis has never been about deficits for the GOP.”

“It has always been about wealth transfer—taking away food and healthcare from the poor and middle class to give away $3 trillion more in tax cuts to their rich friends,” Omar, the deputy chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, tweeted Tuesday.

“Republicans are holding our economy hostage because they want to cut programs for working families,” Sen. Tina Smith (D-Minn.) said Tuesday. “Their next big move? Massive tax cuts for their rich corporate buddies. They may call it fiscal responsibility—I call it extortion.”

“If that’s the case,” Sanders asked, “why are they pushing for an extension of the Trump tax breaks that disproportionately benefit the wealthy and large corporations and would increase the federal deficit by $3.5 trillion?”

The Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy (ITEP) estimated earlier this month that just 1% of the benefits of the TCJA Permanency Act would go to the poorest fifth of Americans.

The richest fifth, by contrast, would receive nearly two-thirds of the tax benefits, ITEP found.
