Crossing has drop by half since Saturday.

So, where’s the strips about bipartisan Congressional actions on immigration, providing more aid to Central and South American nations to stabilize those nations so their residents don’t feel they need to flee for safety, jobs, etc.?

The is no bipartisan anything in Congress at the moment. At best you will get two or three members of either party to cross lines at any given time. The rest of the time it’s straight party-line voting.

I see most commenters so far believe the number of crossings is falling. Pewresearch.org says “The Border Patrol reported 1,659,206 encounters with migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border last fiscal year, narrowly exceeding the prior highs of 1,643,679 in 2000”. Hmmm — well no matter the differences of opinion on numbers, you gotta admit Lester is now uncannily accurate in his drawings of Joe Biden.
