the most terrifying thing he has said is that if he is reelected, he will pardon every one of these imprisoned men and women. AND he can do it! that alone is food for his base. (sleep on that tonight!)

I have my doubts there will be another Jan6-type attempt.

The Capitol police were overwhelmed by sheer force of numbers because nobody had anticipated or prepared for such a huge mob. That won’t happen again. They’ll be prepared, as witness as soon as tRump predicted (wrongly) that he would be arrested and called for chaos, the NYPD went to full alert.

Most of the leaders (except the senators and house members who are complicit) are in jail. Hard to lead an insurrection from there.

Those still at liberty saw that tRump didn’t so much as lift a finger or say anything in their behalf. There were some vague promises about pardons or paying their legal fees, but we all know what his promises are worth. Once bitten, twice shy.
