When I was young (quite a few decades ago) they taught us that war was the end result of politicians failing to do their jobs correctly. Millions killed to fulfill petty egos, they should have focused on the root-cause like they will in the future; Greeks and Romans had it somewhat right when captured, eliminate those responsible and their get to insure future peace. Something those who harbor desires of a civil war should understand; they will follow the republic, just like history says (but hay they burn books and don’t read them).
In my town, there was a fervent anti-war person who decorated the fence surrounding her property with many different “pro-peace” displays, including once when she stapled a plastic shopping bag representing a body bag for every dead soldier. She had a sign that said “Try Peace.” Wow. That sounds great. No one ever thought of that! What happens when the other side doesn’t WANT peace? I often fantasized about knocking on her door, and when she answered, pushing her down. When she got up, I’d keep doing it. until she lashed out and struck me. Then I could tell her to “try peace.”

You can fight – or you can have a ball; both in the same time is impossible…

Well, if the truce lasts from this day, no need to continue the war.
