In all fairness, Father, sports-watchers are usually doing something else and last I checked you can’t eat or drink in church either. When you’re sitting out of obligation to the Lord, it becomes like a job at that point. (Obviously this is a gross generalization. I’m sure there are puh-LENTY of people who don’t care if a sermon goes 10-15 minutes over and are having fun all the same.)
