I have trans friends. I’m awake at night.

At least one of those friends has a go bag packed in case he has to flee to Canada. Fortunately for him, it’s a very short trip.

Republicans have adopted ‘anti-woke’ as their primary platform plank.

Some day, they will make an attempt to actually define what ‘woke’ means.

In the meantime, it’s a perfect meaningless concept to weaponize and LIE about.

Woke means being aware of what’s going on. As opposed to asleep, which is what the radical right wants you to be.

“woke”, much like ‘politically correct’, is simply showing consideration for your fellow American. conservatives try to demonize those terms. Do they oppose showing consideration, or just oppose Americans?

I wonder about the part where Trumpublicans criminalize women (American citizens, you know, at least last I heard) for traveling between states.

So this young lady is woke to the fact that her body is no longer her own. That’s as good a reason to lose sleep over.

Having seen a few books that are “reported” to have been in elementary schools, remove the books, fire whoever put them there, and move on.

You never think they are going to come for your rights until the day comes that they do.

So if you are a woman and a Democrat, you automatically have no rights? If you are a woman and a Republican, you have to memorize The Handmaid’s Tale? (but you still have no rights)

At 76 I’m a bit disappointed at the way things have turned out over my life. Things like the civil rights movement and the Warren court inspired me and gave me hope when I was in my teens and 20s. Then came Vietnam, Reagan, Newt Gingrich, and, worst of all, the guy with the weird comb over and inability to speak in complete comprehensible sentences. Oh, the present Supreme Court. This is not how I wanted to spend my Golden Years.

Most MAGAts decry woke culture without even knowing what it is. It is so embarrassing. But if they DO know what it is and still are against it, they end up proving they are exactly what the rest of the world thinks they are. And yes, it is still embarrassing.

Poor kid, reading newspapers. Little They/Them should relax, abortion isn’t a big issue once you have had organs removed. I thought the World would end because of climate change putting these tiny issues to rest.
