He knows the budget isnt going to pass; it’s setting the stage to use as a cam[aign claim tht he tried and the Republicans would not support him. Today, it’s Trump’s fault that the bank failed; Mayor Pete blamed the train wreck on Trump. HaveBiden’s supportersforgotten that he promisedto shut down fossil fuels, and now tht it’s near election campaign time, he permits drilling in Alaska. Pres. Joe says whtever will benefit Scranton Joe. That’s the bottom line.

Not to worry, Varvel. The Republican alternative will be ready … in about two weeks.

BTW, Varvel, maybe you can do a cartoon showing where you want to cut spending.

Very clever of Varvel to leave out the part where Joe actually REDUCES the deficit.

Versus TFG who just smears and blurs all boxes except the final one where he writes in his name as the Perfect Champion. MAGAt fans go wild, attack any rule enforcers, destroy all rules and burn down the city.

Just dumped $200 billion into SVB depositors pockets without authority from Congress. And taxpayers will pay when the banks raise their fees to replenish the FDIC coffers.

You cannot base fees on insuring accounts up to $250,000 and then expect the system to work by covering all deposits.

Biden mentions Equity 64 times in his budget, transgender 8 times and fentanyl 2 times. That confirms what he is most concerned with, not the 100,000 people dying from drug overdoses. He doesn’t care about the wide-open borders where the drugs are pouring into our country. It’s his fault alone!

25% of the total deficit, the total amount our Government is in debt, happened during the Trump administration. 25%!

Reagan took the deficit from 70 billion to 175 billion.

Bush 41 took it to 300 billion.

    Clinton got it to zero.

Bush 43 took it from 0 to 1.2 trillion.

Obama halved it to 600 billion.

Trump got it back to a trillion.

Biden reduced it $350 billion his first year in office. And the budget office expects to see it drop by another 1 trillion, 500 billion dollars – the largest drop ever. This is despite a $1.9 Trillion pandemic relief package. The Republicans screamed about this at the time, but it is credited with funding a faster recovery than anywhere else in the world, and actually decreasing the debt further.

Remember when republicans stole 8 trillion during the Trump admin to give to rich people?

The American middle class gets to pay for rich people’s tax breaks.

In the Republican version, the only difference is that where it says “Tax” theirs says “Cut taxes on the rich”

This is just another lie Republicans perpetrate hoping that, if they tell it often enough, it will stick. The truth is, it’s the Republicans, with their irresponsible fiscal management, cutting off needed funding, who have done more harm to put the US in deep debt.

Varvel didn’t mean to, but he got it right.

Yes, we collect taxes so that the money can be spent. That’s how it works.

We need roads. Schools. Social services. Parks. Museums. The US Post Office. First Responders. The US Military.

We can’t get it for free, Gary.

If we let private industry own it all we’ll be totally screwed now, won’t we? We can’t trust the private sector.

Don’t worry, I don’t trust the public sector 100% either. But I know that if the government screw up it’ll be made right. Some of the time.

So we tax. And then we spend.

I’m no different than you, I don’t want our money wasted. But I’m grown enough to know that, hey, guess what, our society runs on taxes. So shut up and pay your taxes, ya big whiny babies.

Presidential budgets are aspirational, not prescriptive. It is the Congress who appropriates funds. Of COURSE Biden’s budge reflects his priorities. He’s no different than all the presidents preceding him.
