I had a boss years ago like that. I once asked him how my work was. He replied, “If I ain’t fired you yet, yer work’s OK. Now shuddup and get yer a$$ back to it”.
Reminds me of my days as a tire mechanic. We worked at a small chain, with 4 or 5 stores in the immediate area. However, our store had a large storage space in the back, so we were also the designated tire warehouse for the other stores. Some mornings I’d show up, and there’d be 1,000 tires waiting outside that needed to be stored out back, half of them thrown (!) up to the second story because there was no elevator.
The owner of all the stores would always come by and tell us how we were losing money at our store, and not give out raises. But they billed us for all the tires, and then when the other stores sold them, they wrote it up as 100% profit!

Apparently Rod doesn’t see worker loyalty as a high priority.

Great motivational speaker. He needs to go to Walmart to hear the manager’s morning pep talk and group chants.
