Woah! Another appearance by Warren G. Harding (not making the obvious pun because this is a family comic strip) ! I knew a little about Harding’s “saucy adventures”, but I don’t think I knew he had the soul of a poet.
Glorious Former Leader could take some notes from this guy.
Anyone notice the new typeface for the speech bubbles? How’s it reading?
It’s my own design so I’m still making tweaks to it, but I’m starting the process of rolling out Phase 3. More slowly instead of trying to drop the whole thing off at once. Besides upcoming changes to the art (the biggest change is all the characters are getting full bodies!), there are a ton of these little changes being made — to address common problems I’ve come across in the workflow, making the comic easier to read (bubbles are now inside panels), stuff like that.
It’ll be good to refresh things a bit! Some of the assets and workflows have just gotten bogged down over the years.

Warren was a rascal. No doubt about it.

When it is said no love endures
But fades in seven years–
You know of one so wholly yours,
Which time itself endears.
Seven years ago you heard spoken
The love of heart and soul:
Now, today, I send you token
Of that love, since made whole."
A Harding Poem (Seventh Anniversary). Apparently these were directed at a married woman. Sad to consider he was possibly engaged in adultery.

With poetry like that, can you blame them for the hush-money payments?

I forget: Did Harding’s lawyer go to jail because of the hush money payments?
And, who signed the checks?
