Yes, the Army has a LARGE collection of Abrams thanks that were taken directly from the manufacturer to a storage yard in Arizona… and never used! They are somewhere close to the C-97 transport aircraft that were flown directly from their manufacturer to the boneyard as well.
The Military Industrial Complex rolls on accompanied by the Scientific-technological elite political class.
Biden sends M1 tanks to ensure that WAR WAR WAR continues at all costs. He works to drag Germany in with Leopards. The American people are sick of this.
The Ukranians should stand on their own and negotiate a settlement with Putin together with their bordering European nations. Putin should be isolated from the world. America should work to vastly expand petroleum and carbon-based fuel production to make Rssia irrelevant on the world stage.
But no, WAR WAR WAR! That is all Biden and the globalists want.
When I looked at Google Maps for the Sierra Army Depot a few years ago, the Abrams tanks were out in the open. And there were clearly a lot of them. When I looked a couple of weeks ago, those tanks were not there. They may have been moved, or else they are now in warehouses where maintenance is easier.
From what I saw a few years ago, the US could send 300 Abrams and still have a huge number in storage. 14 is like nothing … well, except for moving one of the beasts…
Brian, I’d be interested to know more about our stockpile — contents, logistics, etc. I suspect that a surprising percentage of that stockpile is useless because it has never been maintained, no replacement parts, little or no tracking, etc.
And I think there may be a propaganda component in having the latest and greatest tanks going to Ukraine, rather than any old tanks.
.
OTOH, giving Ukraine as much of our stockpile as possible would probably be in our interest, eliminating whatever maintenance is required, auditing, etc.
Maybe Ukraine should look through the classified ads for an instant tank force, there’s bound to be a few in there knowing America’s penchant for owning military equipment.
The reason they can’t just send tanks from the Army’s stockpile is because they aren’t export-ready. The armor is classified. So before any tanks currently in US stocks can be given to Ukraine, they will need to have that armor stripped off and be replaced with export-approved armor, such as that worn by the M1 tanks operated by Egypt and Iraq. That will take time. It’s not yet clear whether the shipset of nearly 30 (probably 28) tanks will be brand new or whether they will be existing tanks that have been converted to export configurations, but either way, it will take time. I suspect they’ll go the latter route, and strip armor off some surplus tanks . But you never know.

We have already given Putin a hell of a bloody nose….I think we should maybe back off now and urge a negotiation.

Can’t give them tanks that already EXIST: What would the poor innocent war-mongering industrialists do without the income from building more?
/sorta sarcastic.

The ones going to Ukraine are being built and will not have all the latest bells and whistles.
