Nice. In all the years I’ve been reading this strip I’ve heard of plenty of trebuchets but I don’t remember ever seeing one at Dill’s house.
An old favorite show of mine “Northern Exposure” had an episode that ended with these words “it’s not what you fling, it’s the fling itself”. Love it!
Lucky? Yeah, lucky brothers getting rid of Dill!
A twofer for those unseen but infamous Dill Brothers—the evil version of the Wright Brothers. Get rid of Dill and Alice!
Paraphrasing Soylent Green; … kids, Trebuchets do NOT throw people!
The first mention of the Trebuchet, hilarity ensues……
I imagine Dill would fly farther than he thinks…
Bring the parachutes, kiddos
For those who don’t know, a catapult relies on torsion (springy mechanism) to get the object thrown via the long arm, while a trebuchet relies on weights to pull the long arm down to throw the object.
That will be some ride, Dill.
Wait until Dill’s dad see all of his tools left out in the yard and driveway! His brothers might get a ride in the trebuchet.
Well, there’s a good chance Sticky Dill won’t exit the basket… ッ
To the moon, Alice. To the moon…
The Dill Brothers must be cutting down lots of trees for those trebuchets, not exactly a green revolution.
Dill’s gonna be a human projectile…a ProjectDill!
And so, the Wedekind Brothers Trebuchet, a legend of Cul de Sac, is born!
Dill and Alice should probably re-think those “travel” plans, though….
Looks like Dill be the youngest astronaut.
After that ride eight flags will be like nothing…
