Why the Beverly Hillbillies moved to Florida.

I was just talking to family about this. I’m in Nevada, east of Reno. We don’t seem to get the extremes here. Yeah it gets hot in the summer but not unbearable. We don’t get a ton of snow. Winds kick up some but seldom damaging. In fact here’s a clip from an article:

The 50 counties that escaped a single disaster declaration are primarily in the intermountain West: Nevada (6 counties); Utah (6 counties); Idaho (5 counties); and Wyoming (5 counties). Michigan (26) and Wisconsin (1) were the two states east of the Rockies with counties that had no disasters.

I have lived in some “dangerous” places, so I’m happy to be here.

Well, we don’t have hurricanes or tornadoes, and in the SF Bay area, no snow or below freezing temperatures, either. Every state has their natural disasters.

he forgot high taxes, high crime, beggars on every corner, homeless camps, high gasoline and natural gas prices and NIMBYs against every effort solve any of these problems

yeah but they are leaving racism, religious hypocrisy, voter suppression, unlimited gun ownership …

Sure beats Kansas any way you look at it Mr. Joad. Watch out for the vigilantes and police on the way out west.

Don’t go to Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas which are under a tornado watch.

The earthquakes alone were enough to completely erase any thoughts of moving to California out of my mind.

Should add: brownouts, high taxes, massive homeless in big cities, prosecution for shoplifting only if over $950,… Ok, the sign isnt big enough.
