Paranoid murderous Republicans want everyone to walk around with a no permit gun.

6-year-old who allegedly shot Va. teacher used gun legally purchased by mom, police say

Police revealed new details of the shooting at a news conference, including that the teacher helped her students get to safety before seeking help for herself.

And naturally this story turned up in a number of papers in Europe.

Eventually, the conservatives will reach their goal – drive all the professionals out of teaching. Poorly educated citizens are their prime voters.

Of course but the main point here is that there are many fatalities due to carelessness! Even if you leave your firearm out, at least put a lock on the trigger part! And I don’t have to remind you that that’s one of the reasons why the gun laws here in NYC are so tough! In fact, so strict that when I did NYC School Safety and we were under the NYPD, we were not allowed to carry firearms on or off duty because we were still working with minors. And what made it so bad was that the kids knew it. And that’s why many school safety officers would get attacked when they were off duty. But fortunately I got into martial arts right after I joined School Safety. And a couple of times I saw a few students after school and they acted like they wanted to fight me! But I got into a defensive stance and told them that they really need to think about it! And the next day at school it would be much worse because I’ll have the support of the school administration, PLUS have their parents come up! Fortunately they thought about it and backed off!

And I STILL gave them the business the next day! LOL!!

Local PTA meeting went berserk when some parents demanded that the teachers should be armed… oddly, the arguments weren’t about training these teachers to use the guns nor how to pay for the guns and the training, and they didn’t argue about what situations warranted using guns… they went crazy over their idea that “all teachers are liberals”, and “all liberals are dangerous”, so therefore arming teachers would be both good and bad at the same time…

Those kids look older than 1st graders.

Just waiting for the extremist right wing spin on this one. Expecting something like, the 6 year old student was just protecting everyone from the teacher that had progressive teaching and CRT mixed in with the standard curriculum.

No gun violence advocates commenting yet…

How the teacher should have been armed so she could, you know, defend herself.

The next lesson will be grooming by drag queens.

To those who want to arm teachers, would they have wanted the teacher to shoot her student? Just asking.

Meanwhile, the lax parent who could not keep track of her gun is subject only to a misdemeanor.

‘’Did Miss Connors put on some weight?’’

‘’Nah, that’s just her flak vest.’’

“Arm every American!”, said the NRA. Okay, here we go!

What is there left to say? How crazy can a society get before it crumbles?

I’ll say it again. Why don’t gun owners have gun safes that they keep the combination secret and are the only ones with the key? Such a safe likely saved my siblings and possibly others.

Republicans WANT people to have free access to guns because they believe that lefty liberals WON’T carry or use them. That will give the Reich wing maga mobs the tactical advantage when the shooting starts in the civil war they are so eagerly waiting for.

Sob… Several of my family members are teachers, how can it be that our society has deteriorated to this point?

There is a small town that I drive through about 4-6 times a year, Center Point Tx. I noticed they have a big sign out in front of their school that states something (driving by, need to stop to get a picture, without getting shot) like “We love our kids, so we’ve armed our teachers”.

While I own guns and believe in the 2nd Amendment (passed when the fastest reload was a minute) I cringe at the number of situations where putting a gun in the classroom can go so wrong.

A real and sad commentary on school violence

Apparently, the only thing that can stop a bad kid with a gun is a good teacher with a lesson plan.

Get rid of the guns. Everything else is a failing idea.
