That seems a little obsessive.

I would have taken the basket and returned it in a couple of hours with a “here you go. Put away the clothes and return the empty basket in thirty minutes.”

Betty has a future as a delivery driver for Amazon, UPS, etc. Throw the item on the doorstep, take a picture to prove it was delivered, simply leave without trying to let someone know they have a package on their doorstep.

I say good for her. I hate sneaks and liars.
