Better to let traitors go without ever facing consequences for their treason. That would never set a disastrous precedent. /s

Rall seems to be missing the point that during PRIMARIES, the more extreme folks tend to win… and then during the ELECTION, you need to play to the middle. Attacking the orange mistake tends to attract moderate voters (mostly) even as it helps him secure his hold on a minority of all voters.

The Trump Base may hate establishment Republicans, but they still vote for them. And when they talk about ‘draining the swamp’, they NEVER include even the very most corrupt legislators, and certainly not Their Messiah.

The Trump Base reserves their most seething hatred for anyone who would attempt to allow Those People to vote and to have their votes counted.

Well ted what would’ve happened if they didn’t do that?

We have briandead senetor like hershell walker and kari lake

And then you blame dems for not being stronger

So for you its still win win you can twist words the way to like and still critisize dems for not doing the right thing

Anyone else wonder if Democrats are putting a lot of effort into keeping Trump front and center with their admittedly justified attacks so they can run against him in 24? After all, he has proven himself a perfect loser.

I think Mr. Rall has a point here. The reasonable people need to stop harping on every ridiculous thing Trump does. The obvious recent example is the superhero NFT thing. Ignore it. It doesn’t matter. Everyone from the semi-reasonable Republicans to the far left already knows Trump is a moron. Let the courts do their job and focus on the future.

It might have been nice, back in the 2016 primaries, if Republicans who stood for any normal values, who had any morals and ethics, had stood up and said that Trump was utterly unacceptable as their candidate. Even today, a sparse number of Republicans have condemned him for his past and continuing attacks on the U.S. And, of course, the 4 Republican Representatives which the Select Committee referred to the Ethics Committee of the House for ignoring subpoenas will skate as a Republican controlled Committee will ignore the charges.

He needs to be accountable for the crimes he planned and executed! Barring him from ever holding office again will diminish his power….and the blowhards who support him will crawl back under their rocks!

The point is that Trump’s base is absurdly small and alienates independents and centrists…. pushing on the electable moderate Republicans in favor of the Trump wing worked for the Dems in 2022… and 2020…..

The MAGAs/Republicans (and supporters) don’t want to understand that we who are not MAGAs/Republicans are not “attacking” Trump. We see him as an embarrassing, ignorant, corrupt, evil joke, not as a threat. We who are not MAGAs/Republicans know Trump is his own worst enemy, as are Republicans and his followers. We who are not MAGAs/Republicans know we don’t want or need them to move our country forward into the future.

Trump is a con-artist, but Joe Biden is also a con-artist. The attacks on Trump is a diversion to avoid from pointing out Puppet Biden’s presidential failures, and of his half a century history in politics with nothing accomplished for America nor for Working Americans.

No, Trump’s base is people who hate Jews, Muslims, and brown people.

    Not necessarily in that order.

Yes, the DNC “rigged” the election for Hillary- They believed that she would be most likely to win and she had been a loyal participant in Democratic politics for decades. They put all their muscle behind her and that worked against Bernie, almost certainly causing him to be defeated. She would have been a good president. Compared to Trump, she would have been a great president. And, she did win, by three million votes, just not in the states than have heard nothing other than Republican propaganda for decades.

. The thing is the DNC is a private organization. It has no responsibility to represent the voters. It sponsors the candidate it prefers. The organization preferred Hillary. To be upset about that fact is to misunderstand that the parties exist to push their agenda, and to support the candidates that they believe will further that agenda. If you agree with their agenda, then support them. If you don’t support their agenda, then that would be a dumb thing to do, because they don’t represent you, they never promised to do so, and they have no responsibility to you. And, it doesn’t make any more sense to allow them to determine your opinion of any candidate than it would if it were your local YMCA. For that, you need to actually do a little research ( try Open Secrets) and find out who does best represent your opinions. But, most Bernie supporters, myself among them, actually agree with about 95% of the Democratic party agenda. And, most of them disagree with roughly 1000% of the Republican agenda. When a Bernie supporter says that they will refuse to vote for anyone else, which it is reported that 15% of Bernie supporters actually did in 2016, that is the epitome of stupid. Those 15% would have given us President Hillary and if anyone tells me they think that wouldn’t be any better than Trump, they are either lying, shilling for the Republicans or completely put of touch with reality.

House GOP using Omnibus fight as ‘trial run’ for ploy to cut Social Security and Medicare, critics warn

The U.S. House of Representatives is expected to pass a $1.7 trillion government funding package on Friday to avert a partial shutdown, but not before hearing the vocal objections of far-right Republicans who have signaled their plans to pursue spending cuts—specifically targeting Social Security and Medicare—once they take control of the chamber next month. Leading up to the Senate’s vote Thursday to approve the omnibus, dozens of House Republicans spearheaded by Rep. Chip Roy of Texas urged their colleagues in the upper chamber to “use every tool possible to kill this bill,” raising well-worn complaints about the national debt and threatening to do all they can to obstruct ordinary congressional business in the next session.

    Republicans just get nuttier everyday.

Lauren Boebert bizarrely accuses senators voting for $1.7trn omnibus bill of wanting to ‘sexualise’ children

“Why do you want to sexualize our children? I have four boys and this law is targeting children of their ages all across America,” says the congresswoman in video to Twitter

They get more vicious and backstabbing everyday as well.

Politico’s Playbook published an interview with Rep. Bob Good (R-VA) on Friday, which described the conservative congressman’s plan to ensure House GOP leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) does not become House speaker. The interview describes Good as “vowing not to support McCarthy’s bid under any circumstances.”
