    Eddie’s view is that of a newcomer to this society, untainted by previous experiences or prior knowledge. The carols starting up in every public space, the displays in every retail store, and the ads – anywhere that carries ads – all communicate the message that it IS Christmas already. That Christmas is no longer a single day, but a month-long campaign for profitability.

    Well, to be fair, Eddie probably isn’t thinking about profitability. He is just thinking about presents and a feast.

    Nothing sells from the back room, when Christmas stuff started coming in before Halloween management made a display for it

    I’m expecting Valentines candy to start shipping in any time
