The turkey we got was $1.09/lb, which honestly wasn’t too terribly expensive.

A day is coming when a small measure of wheat will require a day’s wage. God bless the people that are bringing food to our tables.

More BS. 99 cents a lb isn’t any different from last year or the year before or the year before.

What has a bird flu epidemic got to do with inflation? Shortage of turkeys was due to that epidemic.

I expect that anyone who decided to not buy a turkey because of the cost wasn’t going to buy one anyway.

So glad Cathy didn’t buy a whole turkey this year. Instead, she got a big piece of dark for me and light for her. And then here came the mashed potatoes and the dressing.

Oh, Scott, you have somehow missed the news about the avian flu causing record deaths this year of wild birds and poultry (domestic turkey’s are included in the poultry category). This has caused significant price increases not only in turkeys, but also chickens and eggs. https://www.cdc.gov/flu/avianflu/spotlights/2022-2023/nearing-record-number-avian-influenza.htm

Except it isn’t. Look around. Turkey has been going for a buck a pound.
