This makes me wonder, why does Nate feel so cold that he has to wear mittens and earmuffs out in a city street, but he doesn’t need mittens or earmuffs later at night sitting in a room that doesn’t seem to have any doors or windows to insulate it from the presumably colder outdoors night air.

There’s a bigger tree on the deck which should make everyone happy.
