You need to wash it off with distilled water, then store vertically to drain, rotating on a different axis every day for three days in a warm dry place. This will give you plenty of time to shop for a new device. :)
Nephew ran into the problem with smartphone. Didn’t want to wait on rice. Put it in a vacuum chamber. Dropped the boiling point down to room temperature. Fully functional after a few minutes. Perfectly dry.
