By the time you can vote, it’ll likely be completely people. Besides, the candidate doesn’t pyt out the signs, other people do it including those not associated with the campaign except for getting a sign to put up.

Around here, signs on private property are often left up for quite a long time. And signs on public property are subject to removal whenever the public minions get to it. However, some candidates who run every other year or so, make an effort to gather theirs up for later re-use.

In my state they have a time limit, except the winners get an extension if the slap a “Thank you” over the signs.

There are different definitions of “mess” in this story.

I used to harvest them for a friend. The metal stakes cost about $7.00 and the sign can be replaced and yes the new signs are collected at the end of the event.

I know of one sign along the highway about 15 minutes north of where I live that’s been up since 2016.

Make pols put up a big deposit for each sign. If they don’t take them down, the money can be used for that purpose.

Caulfield, you are going to have to live for a very long time, Almost no candidate ever leaves a ‘clean record’.

Not to mention the mess when they leave office.

Those people should be reported. I believe they have 10 days to take down signs, but I’m not sure that applies to private property. Still seeing a lot of “Trump/Pence” signs though I’m quite sure those two will never be running mates again.

Would be nice if those that ran and had signs, showed their commitment to community by making sure the signs are removed.

The local Democratic campaigns in my county maintain a database of all signs they put up and use the same database to remove them promptly after election day.
