That and trying to get my belt through that back loop… I also grew up when women’s blouses were often buttoned in the back… and their buttons were reversed on the front… anyone remember those? Is that still true today?
i wear both since if the suspender fails i have a little bit of suport to fix things. but like i told by boss at at&t ( why you wear a belt with suspenders ) cause if i didn’t i would be doing that song frpm americian idol pants on the ground whatcha gonna do with your pants on the ground
I’m female, but I had the same problem when I wore a back brace after a fall and fractures. I got tired of jeans slipping down when I walked, and I actually bought suspenders to supplement the belt, though I never wore them. The problem was solved when I bought some men’s jeans to match my (at that time) kind of male body. They worked great, and they looked fine!

I have a stomach that’s convex in the front and concave in the back, so no matter how tight I cinch up my belt, my pants fall down, hence suspenders.

I started wearing suspenders when my waist and hips became funnel-shaped.
