The economy as a whole IS doing well. Alas, it’s also hurting voters quite a bit. Which is totally unsurprising, since the folks in control of the economy HATE the idea of a Democrat with enough votes in both houses to actually get something done.
I’m paying so much more at the grocery store! What used to cost me $40 now costs around $110. Of course this isn’t inflation. Not under a Democratic president! The new definition of inflation the White House has provided proves we are not suffering inflation.
I wonder why these greedy corporations didn’t jack up their prices when Trump was in office. Very confusing.
Biden was such a great guy, looking out for Americans when he went begging to Saudi Arabia, asking them not to raise gas prices until AFTER the mid terms. That’s not trying to influence elections though because he asked them to wait until after.
Gosh. We are so lucky to have Biden looking out for us. Has he had his ice cream today?
The masses look at the economy in terms of the stock market, inflation and whether they think they’re going to get laid off. Based on 2 out of 3 of these “metrics” the economy does not appear to be strong as hell.
I just got home from a trip through IL, IN, OH, KY, TN, NC and SC, then back through NC, VA, WVA and OH. Judging from the traffic on the interstates and other roadways, gas prices have not slowed travel. Incidentally, the highest gas prices seen and paid were in red state Indiana.
Get back to us when we start shedding 500K jobs a month, unemployment tops 10%, interest rates top 15%, food lines extend several blocks in every town, and corporations aren’t recording record profits.
the US is doing a lot better than most of the rest of the world with this global situation.
“President Biden continues to say our economy is “strong as hell” but Americans know better. They buy gas and groceries and eat out. They see what is happening to their 401(k)s. They don’t like being bullshitted, especially when they have a way to articulate their displeasure at a rapidly approaching election.” -SS

Stantis once again explains exactly how ‘expressing displeasure’ (presumably by voting in Republicans like snake oil salesman Dr OZ) will reduce inflation.
i.e., NO explanation whatsoever. NONE!
What we do know, is that Republicans will attack social security, medicare, medicaid, voting rights, all professionals in government, and will return kids back into poverty.
And refuse to raise the debt limit.
.
Of course, Stantis KNOWS all this, but would rather weaponize inflation and LIE about it.
