When Gov’t functions properly, efficiently in a particular circumstance, it becomes, “hey, those INDIVIDUALS aren’t doing enough”. I wonder, if Hurricane Ian hits with the force expected, will they expect only individuals to carry the burden too?
When old white conservative English cartoonists fold words from other languages into their lexicon, as part of their vain attempts to caricature a community that were the recipients of a Florida governor’s political stunt and in order be seen as cultured and worldly and funny, they not only offend another culture by the misuse of a greeting over 512 million people use instead of the the artist’ native greeting of “howdy, y’all”, but also leave no doubt to his readership the irrelevance of his message.
I don’t get it. On orders from the RW Florida governor, legal, asylum seeking Venezuelan refugees are plucked from the state of Texas, lied to and deceived into boarding a plane, based on empty promises, then flown to an island off the Mass. coast. Once there, they were treated with compassion and arrangements were made to transport the refugees to facilities that have the capacity to help them. And the islanders are the bad guys. Am I missing something?
