On one of the first days of basic training (many, many moons ago!) the TIs had us say our name and where we were from.  When I told them that I was from San Diego one of them said “You’re from San Diego and you didn’t join the navy?” To which I replied “That’s why I didn’t join the navy.  If I was from San Antonio I probably wouldn’t have joined the air force!”  They didn’t like that!
