Around here, when they close the schools for breaks (including summer) they have to make an effort to see to it that the kids who need it can still get free lunches.

Food insecurity is a real problem in some cities and rural communities; in addition, many rural areas have gaping holes in access to medical care. Democrats aren’t perfect, but they do try to address these problems. People like trump could care less about these problems because it’s not about them. Pathological narcissists make terrible leaders.

In Wyoming, 59,570 people are facing hunger – and of them, 17,390 are children.* In a state of only 581,348 people, that averages out to be over 10% of the population. The woman who will replace Cheney in congress has never spoken about this problem; she is too busy sucking up to trump. That is the problem with magas, they only care about what will get them mentioned on Fox.

Did Gary Varvel really draw this? Did he “suffer” a brief attack of reality? A right-winger acknowledging food insecurity. Next thing you know, the Detroit Lions will win the Super Bowl.

I bet along with the ending the funds for social security, medicare, funding for other assistance programs will be diverted to rich GQP pockets.

I’m sure Varvel wants any program to feed kids to be financed by churches or private charities.

Otherwise, he is in serious danger of being excommunicated and exiled to the sidelines, like Liz Cheney.
