Reporter, to Rep. Matt Gaetz:“Is it safe to say that, based off your comments, you’re suggesting that these women at abortion rallies are ugly and overweight?”
Some years back, my 70-year-old widowed mother had a hysterectomy in a Catholic hospital (she wasn’t Catholic, but her insurance covered it). When she got the bill, she discovered that she’d been billed for a pregnancy test, to make sure that they weren’t accidentally performing an abortion. (She challenged the charge, and got it removed.)
Actually if he has a good lawyer, he will tell him to steer clear of any obgyn work at all. Happening everywhere, not many doctors will risk staying in that practice in these dark ages of political litigation.
I thought MDs had to take an oath that includes “Do no harm”? How did we let politicians tell them what parts of that oath is ‘acceptable’? Good grief!
This kind of medical practice has been going on for quite some time. Not so much because of political chicanery but because of insurance chicanery. In the late 1980’s my father’s brother was dying of leukemia. He was being treated in a hospital in Pittsburgh. The hospital informed my Dad that his brother’s insurance had reached it’s maximum payout and he could not stay at that hospital any longer. The only recourse available was to take my uncle home and wait for his condition to get so bad that he could be brought back to the emergency room and be readmitted. We did that and it wasn’t even a week until he was at deaths door. Back he goes to the hospital and was readmitted. He died there a while later and the hospital promptly indicated that they wanted over one hundred and thirty thousand dollars from my uncles estate. So, when you hear that a major cause of bankruptcy is medical bills, believe it.

Just waiting for the pious comments,
“It was the Lords will”
“God moves in mysterious ways”
“It is a test of faith”
and of course the old standby
“Women were born to suffer for Eve’s sin”
When religiosity strangles compassion……

Sadly, this is NOT a joke. This scene, and others like it, are occurring throughout the nation…

Remember that all Republicans first claimed that the story that the ten year old girl was pregnant was a LIE.
When they verified it was true, they tried to get her identity so they could publicly shame her.
