Reminds me of a story from Etiquette Hell about a little girl who was a flower girl. The mother made the mistake of getting her a pair of fancy underpants to wear under her flower girl dress. So of course she had to make sure everyone in the church got to see her beautiful new panties.

I think this is what the TV Tropes website calls as either an “Innocent Fanservice Girl” or a “Shameless Fanservice Girl.”

When I lived in NYC, I saw lots of toddlers doing that.

And their brainless parents turned a collective blind eye!!

Especially since St. Michael still wears them…

Adorably funny. This is why FBOFW is so much better portraying the modern family life than say Leave it to Beaver, Family Guy, or even the Family Circus.

I was thinking that maybe pants on top would have been a good idea, but then again, maybe not.

When my friend was 4, her brother was born. Her mum played the game of the baby giving his older sister a gift, and for some reason chose knickers, as opposed to a toy or something endearing. When my friend was first taken to the hospital to see her new sibling, she hefted up her skirt and announced to the sister on the ward, ‘My baby got me new knickers!’ The sister said, ’That’s very nice, dear.’ Undoubtedly, she was trying not to laugh.

True of both little kids and adults, although using very different reasoning: the only reason to wear fancy underclothes is if you plan to show them off.

What little kid doesn’t want recognition for their accomplishments? After all they are just trying to emulate the adults around them.

Well, she is very young. She will grow out of it!

Why do they make little girls panties so pretty? So they can show them to everyone and embarrass the parents??

Haha! When I was about 7 a girl in our neighborhood had her little 3 year old sister trained to pull up her dress at her command.

This is why you put bikeshorts or leggings on under the dress. THIS IS WHY.

Ah yes, the exhibitionist phase!

So typical!

LOL… If that was a boy, he would be in big trouble…

Reminds me of when my daughter was getting training pants . We picked out a couple of pairs while at the store and the entire rest of the shopping time she was waving the packages over her head loudly stating, “I got big girl panties!”

Piers Anthony would have something to say about this, I don’t

I used to show off my panties when I was little too. I also had ones with ruffles on the back.

Still a better strip than the one about the rioting and Michael got shot by police.

My sympathies to any parent who actually had this happen to them

Look at it from her view; what’s the point of putting cute Disney princesses and fairies on your Pull-Ups and panties if you can’t show them off?
