Thanks Tia Carmen, now I have a reasonable explanation I can offer for it!

Sadly for some older adults they are only person they have to talk to or their pet.

My mother, who had a parakeet, talked to herself endlessly. That bird developed a huge vocabulary. But after she went into a nursing home it reverted to just a few squawks.

Sometimes I need to review how it actually sounds before I say it.

They must answer their own questions?

Wisdom should come with age. Not always, but generally. I’d hate to be young again and not even know what the Holocaust was

I kind of liked wearing a mask at the store. I could talk to myself and no one noticed.

Used to be that if you talked to yourself, people thought you were crazy. Now they just assume that you’re on the phone.
